Lucasville Members attend Kiwanis Convention

Four members of the Lucasville Kiwanis, Division 9, attended the 2023 Kiwanis International Convention. This year’s international convention was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Ohio State Football Raffle – Get your tickets!!

Take a chance to win TWO Season tickets for all OSU Buckeyes home games this fall. The tickets are in Section 22C, Row 26 which is around the 40 to 45 yard-line. Raffle tickets sell for $5.00, and must be sold by Saturday, August 12th because the drawing will be held on Monday, August 21st at Noon.

Blessing Boxes Filled

Earlier this month KIM LUTE informed the club she had lots of food items to fill our area Blessing Boxes. So Kim and Leanne first went to Lucasville where they found a nearly empty box. Three people came to get food while it was being filled! The pictures to the LEFT are the Before and After
shots. Then the ladies trav- elled to McDermott to the Blessing Box our club erect- ed there. Many more food items were placed in that box, too. Then Kim drove to South Webster on the way to her home and filled up the Blessing Box there, too!

Kiwanis of Lucasville Donates Bags for Foster Children!

Through the Ohio Kiwanis Governor Project “Bags for Foster Children” Kiwanis of Lucasville was able to donate 17 bags for foster children to Scioto County Children Services!  

Each bag contains, 
• Fleece blanket
• Journal Notebook
• Pencils, pens, sharpener & erasers 
• Coloring Book and colored pencils 
• Toiletries
• Toothpaste
• Toothbrush
• Shampoo & conditioner
• Soap
• Deodorant
• Comb
• Hand and body lotion
• 11” Teddy Bear
• Kiwanis Key chain

2023 Easter Egg Hunt!

The Kiwanis of Lucasville annual Easter Egg Hunt took place on April 8th. There was a great turn out of kiddos from all age ranges. We would like to thank all who attended the hunt and hope to see you again next year! A special thanks to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, Valley Township Fire Department, the Jefferson Township Fire Department, and the National Honor Society at Valley High School!

Ohio Kiwanis Governor Visits Div. 9

The Kiwanis Club of Lucasville hosted the Official Visit of the Ohio Kiwanis District

Governor, David Kuhn, on Saturday, November 5th. There were 26 Kiwanians there from six clubs in Division 9—Chillicothe, Downtown Athens, Jackson, Logan, Lucasville and Portsmouth! We heard District news from Governor Dave as well as informaton about the First Family’s Project—backpacks of comfort items for foster kids 12 and up. 37% of foster children are 12 to 17. Several clubs presented checks to Governor Dave at the meetng for the First Family Project. To the right is Lucasville President Sean Ison presentng our club’s check to Governor Dave. The backpack items will come to our club to be assembled and then club members can deliver the backpacks to our Children’s Services in Scioto County.
